The details behind
your little spot.

From the first eligible minute to your next campaign. Find the rules for earning, payouts, advertising, and your Mac.

Earning

What does SideSpot put on my Mac?

One approved ad in a movable desktop window. Choose Small, Medium, Large, or an 8:1 Banner. Clicking an ad opens its approved website; dragging it only moves the window. Use the menu bar or right-click the ad for its controls.

What counts as an impression?

An approved ad must finish 60 continuous eligible seconds after loading. Your Mac must be awake, unlocked, online, recently active, and in a supported display state. An interrupted or uncertain minute does not earn. Video loops do not create extra impressions.

How much do I earn?

Your base share is 60% of the actual advertiser charge for a validated impression. For example, $10 of actual charges attributable to your impressions gives you $6 in base earnings. This explains the split; it is not an income forecast. Available ads, bids, placement, and eligible use affect earnings.

What happens when there are no ads?

SideSpot displays an unpaid waiting artwork. No paid impression is recorded until an eligible funded campaign is available.

How do referrals and bonuses work?

The last valid referral link within 14 days before signup fixes the referrer. An eligible referrer receives 5% of the new user’s base earnings. The newcomer boost is 5% of base for the first 30 earning days; the separate launch boost is 5% of base during the 30-day public-launch period. These are platform-funded and additive, never compounded. Launch timing has not been announced.

Payouts

When can I withdraw?

Validated earnings become available after 120 hours unless held for review. You can request $10 or more, up to your available balance, in cent increments. Requests are reviewed, and the requested balance is reserved until the outcome is known.

Are there payout fees?

SideSpot’s standard bank payout covers the normal payout fee. Any applicable conversion and the received amount are shown before confirmation. Available methods depend on your country and account eligibility.

Where do I choose my payout method?

Use Payouts to review the methods available for your account, destination, country requirements, and any applicable conversion before confirming a withdrawal.

Advertising

How are ads priced?

CPM means the cost of 1,000 completed eligible impressions. Set a separate maximum CPM for each placement and a total budget, with an optional daily cap. Pricing is selected before each impression and cannot exceed your maximum. Default placement floors are shown on the Placements page; they are not a live quote.

Can I reach people internationally?

Choose all supported earning markets or specific countries. Where supported, narrow the audience using optional city, postal-area, radius, and language preferences. Country is approximate network-derived location; local areas and languages are self-reported. Advertising availability and payout eligibility are separate.

Can I run animated or video ads?

Yes. Square and banner formats support static artwork, animation, and silent videos up to 30 seconds. Banner artwork must be 8:1; it is not cropped from a square. Motion creatives need an approved static fallback for Reduce Motion. All renditions and destination links are reviewed.

When does my campaign start?

Create a draft, check the artwork, and submit it for review without paying. A campaign can deliver only when approved, funded, explicitly enabled, within its schedule, and eligible for available inventory. Advertisers can pause campaigns.

Do clicks affect what I pay?

You pay for validated impressions. Click and conversion reports help you assess results, but they do not change the impression charge or the user’s earnings. No clicks, sales, or particular delivery volume are guaranteed.

Your Mac

Which Macs are supported?

SideSpot is built for macOS 26+, with one connected Mac per account. Public downloads are not available yet. Final supported hardware and signed releases will be listed on the Download page.

Can I change the size or move the ad?

Choose from four fixed sizes and drag the window within the supported display. Size changes keep it in the same area where possible, clamping it onscreen when necessary. A size change starts a new eligible minute.

Can I stop running SideSpot?

Yes. Quit from the menu-bar controls or use normal macOS Force Quit. The app has no Pause, Snooze, Disable, opacity, or arbitrary-resize controls. Quitting ends any unfinished impression.

Does it record my screen or activity?

SideSpot does not collect screenshots, window contents, keystrokes, browsing history, or precise device location. It checks necessary display, session, recent-activity, and media states without requesting Screen Recording, Accessibility, or Input Monitoring permission. These signals do not prove human attention.
